Technical Support Officer

The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) is seeking to appoint a Technical Support Officer, to join the Clean Energy team. Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Mayor to deliver for the West of England by acting on the West of England’s Climate and Ecological Strategy and Action Plan and pushing to reach our very ambitious net zero targets by 2030.

• Supporting organisations in the region improve their energy efficiency and lower their carbon footprints, supporting growth and resilience,
• Ensuring Technical Advisors can carry out energy surveys and process grants as effectively as possible, assisting with survey bookings and utility data,
• Maintaining accurate technical data models for reporting and information requests.

What you’ll be doing

The role will primarily involve collating, analysing and presenting energy and resource data such as utility bills, carrying out calculations to estimate potential carbon savings, and general administrative support for the delivery of our energy survey and green grant offer that lead to the implementation of energy efficiency projects.

What you’ll bring

We’re particularly interested in someone who has a strong science, technology, engineering and/or mathematical background, is keen to develop their technical, analytical and advisory skills and is passionate about delivering to tackle the climate and nature emergency.

Salary

The salary for this role is £34,434 - £37,280. This is the full-time equivalent salary, and will be pro-rata for part-time . We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments for external candidates typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, where higher skill levels or experience are applicable, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year-on-year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees.
