Are you passionate about shaping the future of transport infrastructure? We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Capital Delivery team, reporting to a Programme Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead major infrastructure enhancement projects that make a real difference to communities across the region.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex projects from design through to delivery, providing and ensuring technical and design assurance at every stage. You’ll work collaboratively with partners, stakeholders, public transport operators, and Unitary Authorities to deliver efficient, sustainable solutions that promote intermodal travel – from road and rail to walking, cycling, and e-scooters.
You’ll lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage schedules and budgets, and oversee procurement and contractual arrangements. With a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and value for money, you’ll drive innovation and efficiency while embedding equity and diversity in everything we do.
Key responsibilities:- Managing project risks, dependencies, and change processes
- Leading stakeholder engagement and reporting progress through governance structures
- Coordinating design approvals, scrutinising and presenting technical documentation
- Developing business cases to secure funding
- Coaching and mentoring team members

The salary for this role is £52,413 - £55,722. This is the full-time equivalent salary, and will be pro-rata for part-time. We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments for external candidates typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, where higher skill levels or experience are applicable, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate.
