We're looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Commercial team and lead high-profile, multi-million-pound procurement projects across transport, infrastructure and corporate services. This is an opportunity to do more than manage procurements. You'll work with senior stakeholders, technical experts and suppliers to develop innovative sourcing strategies, deliver value for money and shape commercial outcomes that will have a real impact on the people and communities of the West of England. What you'll do You'll lead complex procurements from strategy through to contract award and mobilisation, while providing trusted commercial advice across the organisation. You'll lead high value procurement projects, including major infrastructure programmes. You'll develop innovation sourcing strategies that deliver value, sustainability and strong contractual outcomes. And as a subject matter expert, you'll advise and influence senior stakeholders, technical specialists and project teams and make sure as an organisation we keep ahead of changes in procurement legislation and ensure robust governance throughout the procurement lifecycle.
We're looking for a confident and commercially minded procurement professional with experience of leading complex procurements and working with senior stakeholders. You'll be an analytical problem solver who's able to influence positive change. Your key skills and experience will include
- MCIPS qualification or be working towards CIPS, alongside degree-level education or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, governance and sourcing strategies.
- Significant experience delivering large-scale, high-risk procurements from end to end.
- Experience managing teams and leading cross-organisational project groups.
- Experience of NEC4, capital projects, complex service agreements, central or local government, or social value would be an advantage.

The salary for this role is Β£54,143 - Β£57,561. This is the full-time equivalent salary, and will be pro-rata for part-time. We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments for external candidates typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, where higher skill levels or experience are applicable, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year-on-year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees.
