The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is recruiting enthusiastic apprentices to join our Workplace Operations Team as a Business Administration Apprentice (Level 3).
This role offers a fully funded apprenticeship, hands‑on experience in facilities management, business support, health and safety and personal assistant duties, and professional development to support your career progression.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively and promote effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and partner organisations.
- Provide advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders through telephone, face‑to‑face, written, or digital channels.
- Support functional areas, work across teams, and resolve issues as requested to improve organisational efficiency.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and adopt a proactive approach to developing skills and solving problems.
- Maintain records and files, handling confidential information in compliance with the organisation’s procedures.
- Make effective decisions based on sound reasoning and seek advice from more experienced team members when appropriate.
- Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, managing priorities and time to meet deadlines.
- Organise meetings and events, take minutes and create action logs as required.
- Suggest improvements to working practices, considering implications beyond the immediate environment.
Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
- Minimum 2 A Levels or equivalent, predicted Grade C or above.
- Good communication and basic IT skills (Microsoft Office or equivalent).
- Good organisational and time‑management skills with a reliable and professional approach.
- Positive attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn and develop.
- Ability to work collaboratively, showing resilience, enthusiasm and a commitment to delivering best work.
- Right to work in the UK and meet the government’s apprenticeship funding eligibility requirements.
