The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) is seeking to appoint a Senior Investment Manager to join the Finance & Investment Directorate team.
Your key responsibility in this role will be to ensure a strong focus on delivering the priorities of the Mayor by supporting the delivery of housing, regeneration and place-based investment across the West of England. You will play a leading role in shaping commercially robust investment opportunities, helping to unlock growth, secure funding and deliver transformational outcomes for communities across the region.

What you'll be doing
As our Senior Investment Manager, you'll:
- Lead on financial appraisal, risk analysis, sensitivity testing and commercial assessments for major housing and regeneration projects.
- Support the progression of priority schemes from concept through to investment-ready propositions.
- Work closely with local authorities, developers, Registered Providers, Homes England, investors and government partners.
- Design funding approaches and capital structures that blend public and private investment.
- Influence and advise on commercial negotiations, helping to ensure value for money and successful project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and assurance on investment modelling methodologies across the organisation.
- Contribute to the development of regional investment strategies and project prioritisation frameworks.
What you'll bring
You'll be a highly experienced investment, finance or regeneration professional with a track record of developing commercially viable solutions for complex projects and programmes. We’re particularly interested in people who:
- Hold a professional investment qualification such as CFA, CISI, CII or equivalent.
- Have significant experience in investment appraisal, commercial structuring or financial analysis within housing, regeneration, infrastructure, real estate or public-sector investment.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of financial modelling, risk analysis and development viability.
- Understand housing delivery, regeneration finance and public-sector investment frameworks.
- Can translate strategic objectives into practical, deliverable investment propositions.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently to a wide range of audiences.
- Build credibility quickly and develop strong partnerships across organisations and sectors.

The salary for this role is £63,685 - £69,665. This is the full-time equivalent salary, and will be pro‑rata for part-time. We advertise salary ranges for job roles, with new appointments for external candidates typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, where higher skill levels or experience are applicable, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year‑on‑year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees.
