Job Introduction
TheWest of England Combined Authority Audit Committee is looking for an additional Independent Member, to help support our commitment to strengthen governance.
Led by the regional Mayor,Helen Godwin,the West of England Combined Authoritybrings together Bristol City Council, South Gloucestershire Council and Bath &North EastSomerset Counciltowork with communities, other public services, and industry to deliver for the region.
The Audit Committee is made up of councillors from thoseconstituent councils.
The role of the Audit Committee is to provide independent assurance to the Combined Authority on its governance, internalcontroland risk management arrangements and to oversee the statutory financial reporting process. The Committee meets formally up to four times a year, withadditionalbriefing and training sessions, and on an ‘exception’ basis asrequired. Theremunerationfor this role is£717 pa,plussubsequentpay awards.
