Do you have extensive leadership and management experience in school and or as part of a local authority? Are you passionate about raising standards and maintaining these? West Northamptonshire School Effectiveness Team is looking for an effective senior leader to join our team, full-time, as a School Improvement Partner to work closely with our maintained schools in supporting and challenging them.
The position will involve carrying out regular visits to a group of allocated schools, with a specific focus related to school effectiveness, leading on a specific area within that team, be that curriculum development, assessment, inclusion etc., and carrying out training. The role will require travelling within West Northamptonshire. The role is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a children and adults barred list check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
What will you be doing?
- Develop positive professional relationships with schools and other services
- Work closely within individual schools allocated to you to identify strengths in practice and identify areas for development
- Conduct visits to schools with a specific lens, whether this be in monitoring leadership and management, attendance, behaviour, standards etc.
- Complete notes of visits and share these with schools to ensure that there is an accurate record of visits
- Work as part of a team to develop and deliver training to schools
- Be the team’s expert on an area of school effectiveness

- You will have extensive experience of working as part of a senior leadership within a range of schools
- You will have extensive knowledge of the education sector and the current challenges faced
- You will have extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding children
- You will be passionate about education opportunities and outcomes and be committed to ensuring high quality provision in schools across West Northamptonshire
