The Facilities Team is seeking a Head Porter to work in the historic Guildhall in the heart of Northampton, a grade 2* listed building. Weekend and evening working is required for this role, time off in lieu or overtime is paid for this work.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the workload of Porter Cleaners, ensuring the cleaning of the building and room set ups are completed on time and to standard for the events taking place at the Guildhall on a daily basis.
  • Line Manage a team of 3 porters responsible for monitoring absences, managing performance, training and conducting 1:1 meetings.
  • Undertake risk assessments and write procedures for the Porters/Cleaners.
  • Ensuring all stock, equipment and supplies are regularly checked and replenished when required, keep accurate stock taking records.
  • Raising purchase orders and approving payments of invoices using the Councils Financial Systems.
