Longlands Care home is situated in Daventry, offering a happy and safe living environment where our residents can enjoy an enhanced quality of life. Our team of friendly and committed staff provide the highest level of care and specialise in supporting people living with Dementia. With great accommodation and facilities and a programme of activities, our care home aims to provide a home-from-home atmosphere in which our residents can feel comfortable, content, and very well cared for.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. What will you be doing?

  • A Team Leader is part of the Management Team, promoting the rights and responsibilities of working-age adults with disabilities through the provision and development of services.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day provision of a safe and comfortable environment for customers, meeting the requirements of West Northamptonshire Council to provide services for elderly residents.
  • Supporting administrative, analytical, and financial tasks as designated by the manager in accordance with procedures.
  • Overseeing the assessment and preparation of individual plans for the area of work.
  • Ensuring the delivery of services to meet these plans, providing each customer with an individually determined package of care/support.
  • Managing the ongoing review, performance, and updating of care plans and team performance to ensure that services provided accurately reflect the customers’ and commissioners’ needs at all times.
  • Responsible for delivering new staff induction training, continuous development, and performance to ensure effective and efficient use of resources in accordance with the policy and objectives for this service.
  • Contributing, as a senior member of staff, to the overall management and development of service provision in a given geographical area, planning for future development of services to meet the needs of customers from diverse cultural communities.
  • Processing annual resource requirements reviews, monitoring budgets, and planning budget needs for the future to determine where customer needs can be met within budget restraints.
  • Actively promoting a customer voice in the provision of the service, including the encouragement of self and citizen advocacy.
  • Demonstrating awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social, and welfare needs.
  • Ensuring reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety, and welfare of yourself and others, complying with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the company.
  • Carrying out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope, and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post.

37 hours per week, Mon-Fri (mixed shifts) with alternate on-call.

About you

You may be a shift lead looking for the next move or a current Team Leader wishing to gain more experience to develop yourself for the future. With your previous experience in care leadership and NVQ Level 4 qualification in Health & Social Care or similar, you'll join our team in making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

We will offer 2.5 weeks induction training and a further 2-4 weeks "Buddy scheme" too. We will settle you in; there’s no pressure to "hit the ground running"!

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost. We may close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for this role before the expiry date.
