We are recruiting for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join our small Planning Enforcement team and help ensure development across West Norfolk complies with planning legislation.
In this varied role you will:
- Investigate alleged breaches of planning control
- Carry out site inspections
- Gather and analyse evidence
- Work closely with residents, developers and elected members
- Seek positive solutions through negotiation and enforcement action where necessary
- Manage your own caseload
- Prepare reports
- Present evidence at hearings and inquiries
- Work alongside our legal team on more complex enforcement cases
You will be a confident communicator with experience in an enforcement environment, have a sound understanding of investigative procedures and planning legislation. You will have the ability to analyse information and make balanced, well-reasoned decisions and be professional, resilient and able to deal diplomatically with challenging situations.
