You could join our supportive and forward-thinking Council whether you are a recent graduate and as well as working, would like to train to be a planner or you have a planning degree and starting your career or you are an experienced professional. You will be able to work on a wide range of projects, from housing and regeneration to conservation, coastal planning and major developments, helping us balance growth with the preservation of our unique heritage. Our Borough offers a wide range of planning issues in which you will become involved and contribute to your continuing professional development.

As Graduate Planner (starting salary £30,780 to £37,068) you will be fully qualified (with an RTPI accredited degree) and limited experience or you will need to undertake a formal planning degree qualification alongside gaining relevant experience. For both routes, you can progress through to Planner, then Senior Planner.

At whichever level you join us, we can help you to grow your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. With our Planner Progression Scheme, you will be supported to develop professionally and progress your career through to Senior Planner within the team. We are looking for team players with strong communication skills and a passion for planning.
