West Midlands Safari Park is currently recruiting for an Animal Keeper on our Ungulates section. This is an exciting opportunity, where we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate the ability and knowledge to work with our extensive range of Ungulate species managed in a drive-through system. The position involves husbandry tasks, such as feeding, cleaning, health monitoring and enclosure maintenance delivered to a high standard. The position involves work in the Asia and African sections and all the species within. It includes monitoring of guests in our drive-through reserves and delivering keeper talks.

About you

The role requires someone who is confident, motivated and enthusiastic about wildlife conservation and has excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will require good wildlife knowledge and have an animal-related qualification to HND level or above. Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role. It is a physically demanding but very rewarding role. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends, bank holidays and evenings. Due to driving in animal restricted areas, we are looking for someone who has a full, valid driving licence.

What we are

West Midlands Safari Park is an award-winning visitor attraction, located in Worcestershire in the heart of England. It is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and critically endangered species, with a four-mile safari drive-through, walk-through Discovery Trail, African Village and Lemur Woods, as well as beautiful walking trails, allowing guests to experience up close encounters with hundreds of exotic animals. Guests can also choose from a wide range of catering and retail outlets, as well as enjoying a large amusement area with over 25 rides and attractions providing the ideal venue for family days out. In 2021, the Park introduced Safari Lodges – luxury accommodation allowing guests to stay overnight for the first time.
