Our organisation has made it easier for Military Service Leavers (including reservists) to join. The Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) initiative replaces the requirement for candidates to have a Level 3 qualification before joining our force. Our new RPEL initiative considers an individual’s learning experience and professional achievements outside of formal education and traditional training.

Once you\’ve completed training, you will be able to consider further opportunities including promotion and specialisms within our Force. You could choose to work within Firearms, with our Dogs, in Complex Investigation teams or on Roads Policing; the possibilities are endless!

West Midlands Police also operate an ex-military Talent Management Programme, identifying individuals with unique skills & abilities, both prior to joining and as a student officer, signposting them to key roles within our business.

ABOUT US West Midlands Police is the second largest police force in the country, covering an area of 348 square miles and serving a population of almost 2.8 million.
