Transport for West Midlands have a brand-new opportunity for a Governance Officer to be responsible for coordinating and managing governance activities for key strategic leadership meetings. From minute-taking and maintaining action logs to developing effective processes and ensuring compliance, you will play a vital role in strengthening our governance framework and supporting effective decision-making. This is a pivotal role that supports the seamless delivery of integrated governance for projects and programmes within the Transport Portfolio Office at Transport for West Midlands.

We’re looking for a highly collaborative professional with excellent communication skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Support on agenda planning meetings with chairs, relevant directors/senior officers and external stakeholders
  • Prepare reports and briefing notes on ongoing matters relevant to the work of the Governance Services team
  • Work closely with directors, accountable officers, local authority officers, chairs and other appropriate officers to maintain forward plans for meetings
  • Manage and monitor the Transport Portfolio Office mailbox
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to the Head of Transport Portfolio
  • Coordinate and manage the Transport Portfolio calendar
  • Coordinate the circulation of agenda papers and reports for meetings
  • Prepare the minutes of leadership groups
  • Follow the appropriate governance processes for dealing with any financial activities

  • Experience of coordinating, preparing and providing support to meetings

Location: The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane with at least 3 days a week spent in the office, including Mondays and Thursdays.
