If you’re a proactive, organised and detail-oriented professional, we want to hear from you. We have a brand-new role for a Compliance and Coordination Senior Officer which is a critical role to ensure that both internal and external stakeholders and the public understand and adhere to fares, concessions, ticketing, and payment (FTCP) arrangements. You’ll also support the team’s function by improving and delivering the governance and recording channels of communications with stakeholders that underpin our arrangements. You will also support the development and communication of forward plans and action tracking to support organisation of the team and stakeholders.

This is an exciting time to get involved — fares and ticketing is evolving rapidly with new technologies, improved services, and the introduction of bus franchising and enhanced integration of fares and ticketing for public transport. This role is perfect for someone who has a passion for bringing order to complexity and enjoys working collaboratively.

What you will be doing:

  • Review and redraft the nBus and nNetwork ticketing schemes, working with operators to agree and republish updated documents.
  • Audit and improve public-facing information on fares and ticketing to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Support delivery of a new ticket finder tool and website redesign, ensuring compliance with FCTP content standards.
  • Contribute to the drafting of new FCTP arrangements aligned with bus franchising implementation.
  • Improve the structure and accessibility of the team’s records and file storage systems.
  • Develop better communication channels for operators, including shared tools and clearer access to reporting and compliance information.
  • Support the auditing of operator and partner compliance with ticketing agreements—covering inspections, fulfilment, and reporting.
  • Help coordinate governance activities including minute-taking, action tracking, and reporting for key meetings.
  • Investigate queries and provide advice on interpretation of ticketing policies and schemes.
  • Introduce planning tools (e.g. shared calendars) to support more structured and proactive team delivery.

What’s essential:

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive attitude, able to respond flexibly to changing priorities and opportunities.
  • Experience in business support functions—e.g. meeting coordination, records management, governance reporting.
  • Experience auditing or reviewing data, ideally within a compliance, regulatory or contractual setting.
  • Strong communication and comprehension skills—confidently explaining complex issues to a variety of audiences.
  • A logical and detail-oriented mindset, able to identify issues and take corrective action.
  • Confidence working with partners, including in sensitive or commercially important discussions.
  • A collaborative and adaptable working style, with a positive, team-focused approach.
  • Basic data and financial literacy, including understanding reports and value-for-money considerations.
