We have recently created a new position for a Procurement Lead Officer. Working closely with Senior PLOs and Business Partners, you\’ll aim to enhance, develop, and grow the procurement function by providing a proactive and solutions-focused service across WMCA.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic advice and developing procurement sourcing strategies.
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers from the public, private, and third sectors.
- Raising procurement\’s profile through cross-functional collaboration and networking.
- Managing the procurement portfolio for assigned areas.
- Leading contract management processes, including performance monitoring and implementation meetings, such as grant funding.
- Maintaining and updating contract databases and measuring KPIs.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop tender documentation.
Essential criteria:
- Proven experience in purchasing and procurement strategy development.
- Experience working with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing and stakeholder management.
- A track record of achieving targets.
- Experience influencing senior management and working within Public Sector procurement regulations.
Location: The role is based at 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham, B19 3SD, with at least 2 days a week in the office.
