Motor Vehicle Apprentice - Stoke Workshop
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Apprentice Fleet Mechanic to join our established team at the Stoke Workshop for a 3.5‑year contract.
Successful applicants will complete a Motor Vehicle and Maintenance Technician – Light Vehicle (Level 3 qualification).
Applicants must have: 1) experience working as part of a team and in a vehicle maintenance environment; 2) at least 3 GCSEs—Maths and English included—grade C or above or equivalent.
Those currently undertaking GCSEs and expecting the required grades may apply; confirmation of results is required before an offer is made.

Responsibilities
- Attend all training sessions for the apprenticeship programme.
- Undertake any additional development work.
- Maintain professional and effective relationships with colleagues, operational staff, and customers.
- Apply competencies learned at college back in the workplace under suitable supervision.
- Comply with safe working practices.
- Welcoming visitors to the department in a friendly, professional manner while ensuring area security.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally.
- Act as an ambassador for the department and promote services.
- Undertake statutory health and safety training as required.
- Maintain security—lock doors/windows, challenge unknown persons, wear Trust identity badge at all times.
- Perform any other duties as appropriate, including those requiring courteous, confidential, and sympathetic conduct.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) grade C or above, including Maths and English.
Experience
- Experience working or participating within a team.
- Experience working in a vehicle maintenance environment.
Skills and Knowledge
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good general understanding of vehicles.
- Desire or interest in vehicle maintenance.
