We are looking for a dedicated, highly motivated individual who can work as part of our existing Server and Storage team to support the whole organisation, including 2 Ambulance Emergency Operations Centres. The successful applicant must be able to take part in the Teams out of hours on call rota, which will attract an additional percentage (on call allowance) in addition to the band 7 salary & section 2 unsocial hours enhancements. Please note, a full UK driving licence is essential for this post.
Deliver the role of Senior IT Server Specialist in accordance with the agreed Role Profile and Objectives. Be responsible to the IT Infrastructure Manager for the efficient and effective support of IT systems and services throughout the Trust as relates to IT Servers.
- Develop, contribute towards and implement policies, procedures and guidelines related to IT Server Security.
- Assist in the Development of an IT Server cloud first program and raise awareness of IT Server strategy amongst staff, promoting the IT department 5-year strategic plan.
- Assist the IT Infrastructure Manager and other team members in ensuring and maintaining the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Trust IT systems and services.
- Assist the IT Infrastructure Manager in matters of IT Server Cloud Architecture and advise the Trust accordingly on the evolving landscape.
- Ensure governing body directives, legislation, frameworks and internal policies are deliverable, implemented and adhered to.
- Assume wider responsibilities as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Manager.
- Assist and support the IT Infrastructure Manager and other team members in the delivery of Trust IT Server Policies and long-term IT Server Strategic Plan, to ensure a seamless and consistent delivery of IT Services.
- Maintain awareness of developing standards and innovations in the area of IT Server landscape, and ensure the trust exploits opportunities as necessary to deliver optimal and cost-effective patient care.
- Ensure services are supported to agreed hours of service to agreed service levels by participation within the on-call rota.
- Act as an authority and provide specialist knowledge on IT cloud base server architecture for the Trust and ensure delivery of associated IT systems and services.
- Conduct and analyse risk assessments as appropriate and advise the Trust on IT system errors or security concerns/breaches.
- Provide guidance and advice as required or requested by other departments on the procurement of new solutions, systems or services to ensure they comply with the Trust's IT Strategic direction and 5-year IT plan.
- Promote effective use of IT systems and services, developing IT server infrastructure awareness and promoting a culture of cloud first server adoption.
- Be responsible for managing and maintaining the various highly complex IT Server systems and services, as well as advising on future technologies, research and development.
- Participate in continued professional development, training and courses as identified ensuring skills and knowledge are kept current.
- Identify knowledge gaps, develop and promote an IT Cloud first awareness program in conjunction with other departments as required.
- Identify and develop quality measures to ensure the highest levels of service delivery is achieved.
- Carry out projects pertinent to the work of the Trust producing management information, reports and recommendations.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and other associated activities as appropriate within the Trust to identify, remediate and mitigate risks to the Trust.
- Liaise with NHS England, NCSC and other relevant bodies as required ensuring IT Security advisories, directives and notifications are actioned and logged.
- Ensure all systems and applications where applicable are kept up to date and are encompassed in the patch management routine as detailed in the patch management policy.
- Assist with developing and maintaining an Incident Response plan and Computer Emergency Response Team in relation to severe IT Security incidents.
- Take part in activities that lead to personal and/or team growth. Attend supervision and appraisal sessions with the Line Manager.
- Lead on investigating IT Server issues, liaising with other staff and departments or external/third parties as appropriate.
- The post holder is expected to work with the minimum of supervision and may be expected to deal with other duties appropriate to their level and post.
- Travel to other Trust sites may be required on an ad-hoc basis, therefore your own vehicle and a full clean UK driver's licence is required.
