About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter at West Midlands Safari Park, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient operation of our theme park rides and other mechanical assets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include carrying out daily safety checks, diagnostics, repairs and planned maintenance to ensure rides are fully operational and guest downtime is minimised. You will also be required to support the diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of the park’s fleet vehicles, ensuring they remain in excellent working order. Additionally, you will assist with any ad-hoc repairs and maintenance of onsite infrastructure and machinery as needed. This is a hands-on, varied role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where safety, efficiency, and attention to detail are paramount.
About You
You’re an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong technical knowledge and practical skills. You take pride in your work and are confident in diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and carrying out preventive maintenance. You’ll be adaptable, comfortable working outdoors and one weekend day in a guest-facing environment, and happy to respond quickly to unexpected issues. Experience within the amusement, leisure, or theme park industry is preferred, but not essential. You’ll also be a strong communicator, a team player, and committed to upholding the highest safety standards in all aspects of your work.
