West Midlands Safari Park is recruiting for the position of Carnivore Keeper. This is an exciting opportunity for a permanent keeper to join our Carnivore section. For the right candidate, this post offers a fantastic opportunity to work with an extensive range of Carnivore species in a Safari Park setting.
The position involves delivering daily husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning, health monitoring, animal training and enclosure maintenance delivered to a high standard. The role also includes monitoring of our guests and operating watch towers.
About you
The role requires someone who is confident, motivated and enthusiastic about wildlife conservation and has excellent communication skills. You will have gained an animal related qualification HND level or above or have successfully completed the DMZAA. Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous experience in a zoological collection, although full training will be given. We require someone who will be passionate and enthusiastic about wildlife conservation while understanding the importance of safe working practices.
You will need to be flexible in your approach to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends, bank holidays and evenings. Due to driving in animal restricted areas, we are looking for someone who has a full, valid driving licence.

- 24 Hour access to an online doctor and access to online prescriptions.
- Counselling access.
- Free onsite parking.
What we are
West Midlands Safari Park is an award-winning visitor attraction, located in Worcestershire in the heart of England. It is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and critically endangered species, with a four-mile safari drive-through, walk-through Discovery Trail, African Village and Lemur Woods, as well as beautiful walking trails, allowing guests to experience up close encounters with hundreds of exotic animals. Guests can also choose from a wide range of catering and retail outlets, as well as enjoying a large amusement area with over 25 rides and attractions providing the ideal venue for family days out.
In 2021, the Park introduced Safari Lodges – luxury accommodation allowing guests to stay overnight for the first time. Guests can wake up to incredible sights of elephants, giraffe, rhino and red panda, or sleep just a ‘whisker’ away from lions, tigers and cheetahs.
In addition, the park is home to three incredible venues – Spring Grove House, Treetops Pavilion and Cellarz, which play host to weddings, corporate events and social celebrations.
