West Midlands Safari and Leisure Park is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon (MAT Cover) to join our resident RVN and Wildlife team. This is an exciting opportunity for a vet with exotic experience to conduct preventative care and provide medical attention to all animals on site from reptiles through to large mammals.
In this busy and varied position, you will be responsible for the generation and implementation of health care programmes, conducting regular preventative care to maintain animal health, maintenance of WMSP's BALAI and Confined Establishment status, and record keeping. The role will work collaboratively with Wildlife Management to support staff training, health and safety, animal husbandry and animal relocations.
About you
The role requires someone who is confident, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about veterinary care for exotic species. You will have a professional attitude and be able to work to tight deadlines in a way that promotes the safety of the Park, its employees and species in our care. You will demonstrate your experience as an efficient and organised professional, who is able to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
The successful candidate will need to be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with RVCS, Zoological experience is preferred but guidance and support are available. Due to the nature of the role all candidates must have a full, valid driving licence. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends.
