West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) is a specialist sexual violence support service that has operated within Worcestershire since 1986, Herefordshire (2011) and parts of Shropshire (2019). We deliver a range of services for survivors of all forms of rape, sexual violence, abuse, harassment and/or exploitation. We work with women, men, and children & young people (age 5+) and their families. We are developing our training/trading arm – Purple Leaf to diversify our income base, to raise awareness of sexual violence and to work towards prevention. We have grown significantly since our inception in 1986 and are now generating an income circa £3 million pa. We have a strong management team and dedicated staff team who are supported by our Board of Trustees/Directors and, as a result of our continued growth, we are seeking additional trustees especially those with the following areas of recent expertise:

  • IT/Systems
  • Marketing/Social Media

You will join us at a moment of reflection and change as we re-group, re-focus and get ready to kick-start the changes needed to reduce sexual violence in our communities. We are developing our new strategic plan which will determine our strategic direction, areas for growth and ensure our continued success and service delivery for the next five years.

We will provide a programme of training, action learning and culture and values building that will run alongside the governance responsibilities.
