The main purpose of the Senior Solicitor (Operational) role is to support Legal Services in maximising the extent to which communities are protected from harm by providing a professional, independent, accessible, timely and cost effective legal service to the Chief Constable, Chief Officers and the members of the wider workforce where required. To act as principal legal advisor in various complex matters. To deputise for the Head of Legal Services.
The Senior Solicitor (Operational) role is a hybrid (mix of home & office working) role.

Candidates must have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years to meet the vetting level required for the post. The closing date for this post is 12 noon on Thursday 26th March 2026.
