The main purpose of the People & OD HR Officer role is to provide a professional advisory service to managers across West Mercia Police. To provide guidance and coaching to business areas on complex employment issues, covering all elements of People policy, procedure and practice. To support the P&OD Business Partner in the development and implementation of People policies and procedures. The People & OD HR Officer role is a hybrid (mix of home & office working) role. Candidates must have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years to meet the vetting level required for the post. The closing date for this post is 12 noon on Tuesday 3rd February 2026.
Responsibilities:- Provide professional advisory support to managers across West Mercia Police on complex employment issues, covering all elements of People policy, procedure and practice.
- Guide and coach business areas on policy development and implementation in collaboration with the People & OD team.
- Hybrid working arrangement (home & office).
- UK residency for the last 3 years to meet vetting requirements.
- 28 days annual leave (increasing to 33 after 5 years' service) + bank holidays.
