We are looking for an outstanding, outcome-focused Head of Policy and Commissioning to join the office of the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner and support our vision: “Working with partners and the public to deliver safer, stronger communities in West Mercia”. A core role of the PCC’s office is to ensure the voice of the public is reflected in policing. The PCC also allocates millions of pounds to community projects, victim services and crime prevention measures, and makes sure the police force has the funding it needs to deliver an efficient and effective service for the public. The PCC needs someone who has got a passion for ensuring resources are directed to projects that tackle crime and support victims, someone who can give an excellent strategic oversight of the development of critical business areas – including the development of a new Victims’ Hub and a new performance framework, and can ultimately be a key member of the senior leadership team. If successful, you’ll be responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of the PCC’s statutory functions, which includes his Police and Crime Plan, through the use of effective, efficient, evidence led commissioning and policy activity.
