The post holder will be working as part of a school team to support teaching and learning.

Under the teacher's direction they will work within the classroom to support pupil learning, organise resources to support learning through the school and carry out duties relating to pupil pastoral support.

Competence in handling and using classroom equipment and competence in routine clerical and administrative tasks is required.

The post holder will carry out duties relating to pupil pastoral care, attendance, demonstrating good relations with pupils, parents, and those from other support agencies.

Post holder will have the ability to work towards and gain a relevant qualification at SCQF Level 6 or equivalent within 5 years of commencing employment in the role of PSW.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18.

The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3-month period by repayment schedule.

If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
