Recycling & Waste Services wish to recruit an individual to work as part of the Disposal team to safely repair and maintain West Lothian’s Recycling Centres and Recycling Points.

Work pattern: Fixed: 4 days per week. Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.

Working hours: 07:30-17:00, 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Tasks will include:

  • A category B driving licence is required together with a full current and valid CPC and driver card (tachograph card).
  • Carrying out general repair & maintenance activities at the Recycling Centres & Points located throughout West Lothian.
  • Inspection, cleaning and maintenance of containers such as skips, compactors, wheeled bins and bin housing.
  • Repairing and fixing signage or fencing.
  • Painting and line marking.
  • Cleaning and preparing a job site.
  • Loading and delivering materials.
  • Delivering fuel and fuelling equipment at Recycling Centres.
  • Using a variety of tools such as power drills, grinders, saws and water spraying equipment.
  • Operating equipment such as a lawnmower, strimmer, leaf blower, pressure washer, telescopic handler, tail-lift and forklift.
