We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

West Lothian Council is committed to transformative changes in delivering Education Services. We aim to provide a supportive environment that fosters your professional development. Our commitment is demonstrated by achieving the Investors in People Standard and continually striving for service excellence.

Linlithgow Academy is a six-year comprehensive school offering students a progressive, relevant, challenging, and enjoyable curriculum with opportunities for personalisation and choice. We ensure students have high-quality learning experiences.

We offer the full range of National Qualifications typical of a modern Scottish secondary school. Our goal is to foster creativity and enterprise, developing students with pride and ambition to contribute positively locally, nationally, and internationally.

Linlithgow Academy provides an environment where all students can succeed. Our excellent facilities and dedicated staff enable us to deliver the highest standards of education in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where everyone’s achievements are recognised.

We believe the curriculum encompasses both what students learn and how they learn. Emphasising student experience and flexibility, we aim for all students to succeed in examinations and personal achievement pathways.

The school employs 100 teaching staff, organized under the leadership of a Principal Teacher Curriculum for each Curricular Area.

You will collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure a high-quality student experience aligned with curricular design principles and student entitlements, with the goal of maximising achievement and attainment for all. Our mission, \’Together we Thrive\’, underpins our collaborative approach to improvement, valuing every voice. The school’s core values—kindness, curiosity, perseverance, and fairness—guide daily decision-making.

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland are essential.

This post involves Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will need to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before starting employment, with costs covered by the candidate.
