Teacher of Business Education, Bathgate Academy, 35 hours per week, 47 weeks per year, fixed term until 13 April 2026.
Bathgate Academy is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic Teacher of Business Education. The successful candidate will support the vision of the school and implement strategies to achieve this vision. This is a key post which comes at an exciting and challenging time for education and the school.
Bathgate Academy is a comprehensive non-denominational school and serves a cluster of five primary schools. The school roll is currently 1180 and rising due to housing developments and growing community confidence in the standard of education provided. Our staff, students, parents, carers and the community work together to improve all aspects of the school. The school values inclusion and serves a diverse range of young people, with some facing significant learning barriers; staff work hard to help students realise their ambitions.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- support the principles of Curriculum for Excellence to benefit learners and the improvement agenda of the faculty, school and authority;
- contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of Business Education within the school;
- work with colleagues to promote inclusion and raise attainment for all learners;
- help implement school strategies to achieve its vision.
Qualifications
- Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) is essential.
- This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the PVG Act. Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment, with the cost met by the candidate.

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18.
