As part of Cleaner Communities you would work as part of a team to provide the frontline delivery of Street Cleaning duties throughout West Lothian. Reporting to the Senior Operative, you will be required to work reactively, as part of a team and independently.
To carry out all duties relating to street cleansing of public areas including:
- Public parks
- Open spaces
- Verges
- Roads
- Pavements
- Shopping precincts
- Car parks
using the appropriate tools and equipment to a standard meeting the Council's statutory and legislative obligation. This position will require extensive walking, lifting and emptying of street litter bins. The possession of a driving licence is essential for this post. The ability to operate or learn to operate petrol and electric powered equipment and work in all weathers and in all conditions are essential.
Applicants must be able to work Monday to Sunday every fourth week:
- Mon – Thurs: 7:00 – 14:30
- Friday: 7:00 – 13:30
- Saturday – Sunday: 7:00 – 11:00
