It is part of the Broxburn Academy Cluster. The school roll is 417 with pupils being organised into thirteen classes (P1-7) and 86 children in our Early Learning Centre. Our staffing includes the Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, 2 x Principal Teacher, 19 teachers, 5 PSWs and 9 ELC Practitioners. The school office is staffed by an administrative assistant and a clerical assistant. Our vision for our is to inspire children to achieve through care. This develops the four capacities within Curriculum for Excellence and supports wellbeing. We strive to do all we can to ensure that our children receive an excellent education. We encourage children to find pleasure in learning and playing together, to understand, respect and value the different cultures and backgrounds that enrich our school and its community. 1 x post 25-hour week, 39 week fixed term contract supporting a Primary 3 pupil with additional support need. This role will involve a range of universal and targeted support in learning. Please note you will be required to work in-service days and support children during outdoor breaks at playtime and lunchtime. We are aiming to recruit a nurturing Pupil Support Worker to be part of our team and help us to continually improve provision for the children in our care. Applicants will be working within the school, supporting our learners and contributing to our improvement priorities as part of our hardworking and committed staff team. This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
