Education Services are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the pupil support worker supply pool across schools in West Lothian.
Under the direction of the designated teacher, the postholder will work with and support school pupils by undertaking a range of activities relating to the general supervision, safety, care and wellbeing of pupils.
- Child Development and Learning: Under the direction of the teacher and/or appropriate specialist support, the post holder will be working in the learning environment to support pupil learning. For full list of duties please refer to the attached job description.
- Care and Welfare: As part of the team and under the direction of the teacher, the postholder will assist with the provision of a safe school environment by supervising pupils within the learning environment. Duties are undertaken to support pupil pastoral care and the promotion of child health and safety. For full list of duties please refer to the attached job description.
- General Support: Under direction of the teaching staff, assist with the organisation of resources required to promote a positive learning environment. The post holder will assist in a range of tasks relating to specific school programmes and administration. For full list of duties please refer to the attached job description.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
