As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workload of Payroll Assistants while ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll services for employees, pensioners, Elected Members and partner organisations. The role offers the opportunity to apply your technical payroll expertise while supporting colleagues, improving processes and contributing to service excellence.
Working within a fast-paced payroll environment, you will play a vital role in ensuring payroll records are accurately maintained and statutory obligations are met. You will support payroll operations from data validation and payroll processing through to reconciliation, reporting and compliance activities.
Whilst experience of working within a Local Government payroll environment is desirable, it is not essential. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate relevant payroll knowledge and experience. Familiarity with the Council's HR and Payroll system (iTrent) would be advantageous; however, full training and support will be provided.
If you are an experienced payroll professional looking to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
