We are seeking an experienced Social Work Manager to provide senior professional leadership for services supporting adults and older people in West Lothian.
This is a critical role where you will lead high-quality, person-centred services and drive improved outcomes.
You will be part of an established and supportive senior management team, committed to continuous improvement, reflective practice, and delivering meaningful change.
You will lead a range of services, ensure strong professional standards while contributing to the strategic priorities of the Council and Integration Joint Board.
This role requires confident, values-driven leadership in a complex and changing environment. You will champion innovative, strengths-based practice and support teams to respond effectively to evolving demand.
You will also play a key role in building and sustaining effective partnerships—working collaboratively across agencies to promote integrated, joined-up support that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3-month period by repayment schedule. If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
