An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful, dynamic and supportive nursery team within Letham Primary School. The school is a non-denominational primary with 10 classes and an early learning centre (ELC). Letham nursery serves the Craigshill area of Livingston. Our Nursery embraces learning through play and the 'child's voice' is at the centre of our practice.
Our ELC environment is purposeful and inviting and supports children to develop in all areas of their learning. Children are treated as individuals and are encouraged to share their own ideas and to lead their learning following their interests. The staff consists of one EYO and eight EYPS who are supported by four Pupil Support Workers. The nursery is open 50 weeks per year and the staff work flexibly across the opening hours on a rota.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
