As a member of the Ranger Service, the Access Ranger has a fundamental role in enhancing and protecting our countryside, whilst encouraging greater public understanding and enjoyment of it. In particular this role will be responsible for co-ordinating the planning, development, implementation and management of public access.

It is essential that candidates should have a recognised certificate to SVQ Level 3 / HNC in an environmental / land based subject or related subject, or equivalent experience. Good knowledge and application of Land Reform (Scotland) Act and access related legislation. Strong initiative and drive in delivery of key tasks. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Relevant experience in communication, negotiation and consultation skills in relation to land access/management and working with the public/land managers. Computer literate and hold a full UK driving licence.
