The opportunity has arisen for a 1-year fixed term position within West Lothian Council, Housing, Customer & Building Services for a Housing Assistant who is dynamic, self-motivated and enthusiastic to join our team. We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. Responsibilities
- You will be responsible and accountable for the implementation of all Housing Management policies and procedures and ensure compliance with current legislation, regulation and good practice.
- You should be able to communicate well at all levels and have a working knowledge of providing assistance to tenants and their families who have complex needs who are experiencing difficulties in sustaining their tenancy for a variety of reasons.
- Undertake an assessment of individual(s) housing need, providing advice and guidance on alternative housing options.
- Ability to record and report information accurately and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications / Experience
- Chartered Institute of Housing Level 2 or equivalent, and recent relevant experience of working in a frontline customer focused environment.
Additional information
- The successful candidate will have access to West Lothian Council\’s Pool Car Scheme in order to undertake approved business travel.
