Deans Primary School nursery class, located in Livingston, operates during term time with attendance hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. We are currently seeking to appoint two dedicated and motivated Early Learning Centre (ELC) practitioners on a fixed-term basis, for 30 hours per week, through to 27th June 2025.

We are looking for individuals who possess a strong knowledge of early childhood play and development, and who are committed to providing high-quality learning experiences. The role will involve collaborating effectively with our nursery team to plan, evaluate, and report on the progress of the children in our care.

The post-holder must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 level in Early Education and Childcare or provide equivalent qualifications and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early year’s educational establishment. This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
