Seafield Primary School Nursery Class is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and nurturing ELC Practitioner to join the team in the nursery. The setting is open 50 weeks per year and staff work flexibly on a rota across the opening hours.

The successful candidate will work as part of a forward-thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and responding to the individual needs of each child, providing high quality, caring interactions and learning and teaching experiences.

The post-holder must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 level in Early Education and Childcare or provide equivalent qualifications and demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early years educational establishment. This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulates you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC, you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
