The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

36 Hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, fixed term until 10th August 2025.

Letham Primary School and ELC is a non-denominational school catering for Nursery to P7, situated in the Craigshill area of Livingston and is part of the Inveralmond Learning Community. The school works hard to provide an inclusive and nurturing environment for children and their families in an area of economic and social deprivation. Our parents are very supportive of the school and through regular opportunities parents engage in the wider life of the school and have provided effective feedback to move our school forward.

At present the school has a Collaborative Leadership Model across Letham Primary School and Riverside Primary School, which consists of a Head Teacher, two Deputy’s and four Principle Teachers. One Principle Teacher leads the ELC.

Letham nursery are seeking to appoint a highly motivated ELC Practitioner to join our nursery team. The successful candidate will work as part of a forward thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and will respond to the individual needs of each child, providing high quality, caring interactions and learning and teaching experiences. The setting is open 50 weeks per year and staff require to work flexibly across the opening hours.

The post-holder must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 level in Early Education and Childcare or provide equivalent qualifications and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early year’s educational establishment.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
