Knightsridge Early Years Centre is looking for a nurturing and highly motivated Early Years Practitioner to join our nursery team.

The nursery is open 50 weeks of the year for children aged 2-5 years providing a mixture of full-day and half-day places.

Staff work flexibly across the opening hours on a rota.

This is a fixed term post until 17 August 2027 for 15.5 hours per week.

The hours will be worked Monday and Tuesday working within a shift rota between the hours 7.45am - 6.15pm Our Early Years Centre works collaboratively to provide high-quality learning experiences for all children.

We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner who will bring enthusiasm and a good knowledge of the early level curriculum.

The successful candidate will demonstrate their nurturing approach and dedication to getting it right for all children.

They will work as part of a forward-thinking team, bringing sound knowledge of child development and responding to the individual needs of each child by providing high-quality interactions and learning experiences.

They will work in partnership with our parents and partners to ensure we are getting it right for all our learners.

The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.

SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.

If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18.

The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3-month period by repayment schedule.

If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
