Shift Rota on a Monday and Tuesday between the hours 7.45- 6.20pm and every second Friday 7.45-12.45

Croftmalloch is situated within the village of Whitburn and serves the local area. The setting consists of am, pm and full day learners aged between two and five. The ELC provides spacious learning areas and there is a large outdoor , garden and forest area. The setting is open 50 weeks per year, and staff work flexibly on a rota across the Opening hours.

Croftmalloch ELC are seeking to appoint a highly motivated practitioner to join our Nursery team. The successful candidate will work as part of a forward-thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and will respond to the individual needs of each child, providing high quality interactions and learning and teaching experiences

Croftmalloch Primary School is seeking to appoint a nurturing and motivated ELC Practitioner to April 13th 2026

\\n

The successful candidate will bring a sound knowledge of early level play and development as well as a commitment to providing high quality learning experiences and interactions whilst effectively working as part of our nursery team to plan, evaluate and report on children’s progress. They will work in partnership with our parents and partners to ensure we are getting it right for all of our learners.

  • Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 – Early Years Care and Education (SCQF Level 7)

  • Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 – Child Care and Education (SCQF Level 7)

  • Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 – Children’s Care, Learning and Development – (SCQF Level 7)

Requirements

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
