This post will have a shift pattern (i.e.- Sunday 9.30am-4pm (weekend allowance payable), Monday 10am-9pm, Tuesday 9.30am-4.30pm, Wednesday- 9.30am-9pm).

West Lothian Council Justice Services have an exciting opportunity to recruit a full-time permanent Community Work Order Supervisor within the Community Payback Unpaid Work Team. This dynamic team is responsible for the supervision of Court Orders for all individuals made subject to an Unpaid Work requirement. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising service users who are completing their hours of unpaid work through a selection of tasks which give back to the community. This work could include (list not exhaustive):

  • internal and external painting
  • house removals
  • bike building
  • school and community centre projects
  • light crafts

Work is based either at one of our workshops or on location within West Lothian. Working alongside colleagues, the successful candidate will ensure that service users comply with the requirements of their Court Orders; identifying and seeking out project opportunities that work teams can undertake as part of payback to the local community.

The successful candidate will be expected to promote compliance and positive engagement and will be involved in the supervision of a diverse, complex and challenging client group.

The successful candidate must have the following essentials:

  • Possession of driving license
  • Relevant experience of working with people
  • Good Time Management skills

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
