An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Occupational Therapy Service for a full time Community Occupational Therapist (36 hours). The successful candidate will work as part of a team of Occupational Therapists and Service Coordinators supported by two team managers and the Group Manager.

This post will have a specific focus and oversight of the Scheme of Assistance (SOA) Process, working closely with the SOA grants officer to ensure a streamlined and supportive service for customers requiring major adaptations within their home environment.

Whilst this role will predominantly focus on SOA, the successful applicant will also support, as required, the service’s rotational program which covers three areas of: Housing; Independent Mobility assessment (IMA’s) and first point of contact (Duty), as well as contributing to the success of ‘All about me Assessments’. These assessments support minor as well as major adaptation, equipment provision, specialist seating and manual handling.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
