West Calder High School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Clerical Assistant to join our school team. With a focus on excellent customer service, you will be the first point of contact for pupils, staff and visitors to the school.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Meeting and greeting all stakeholders and assisting them with any enquiries they may have
- Answering the phone, taking and relaying messages
- Assisting with any ad hoc administration and database updates of pupil information
- Cash handling
The office at West Calder High School is very busy serving over 100 employees and 1280 pupils, so you need to love being busy and thrive in a fast-paced working environment. The role requires you to be computer literate (MS Office), a strong communicator and willing to roll up your sleeves to get stuck in wherever assistance is required.
Previous experience within a school environment and the use of SEEMIS is desirable but not essential.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
