Eastertoun Primary is a non-denominational school in Armadale, which benefits from a mixed catchment area in terms of socio-economic background. The school currently has 12 primary classes and a nursery class. The Senior Leadership team consists of a Head Teacher, an Acting Depute Head Teacher and an Acting Principal Teacher who work alongside our dedicated and nurturing teaching and support staff. The school has a long-established and fully supportive and active Parent Staff Council as well as a very supportive parent body. The school has very good relationships with cluster schools and the local community.
At Eastertoun Primary our vision is to promote a whole school working ethos to ensure pupils are given the chance to flourish, learn, achieve and develop in a safe and nurturing environment. We work together to ensure that our children are given the best opportunity to develop their full potential. This work is underpinned by our school Charter of ‘Safe, Ready and Respectful’ and by our core values which are shared with the school community through our Value Bears representing kindness, focus, resilience and teamwork. We are committed to children’s rights and learner voice.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council. A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
