You will work as part of a team providing high-quality, person-centered care and support to older people within a care home setting. You will promote residents' dignity, rights, choices, independence, and wellbeing.
Previous experience and an SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, is desirable. Full induction and training will be provided, with the expectation that you will participate in ongoing learning and professional development.
Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to communicate effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues, and other professionals.
A rotational shift system is in operation, including weekend work.
This post is considered Regulated Work with protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by West Lothian Council.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.
