We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Clerical Assistant to join our school support team, based in our very busy office environment. Polkemmet Primary School is a non-denominational school that serves the community in the West of Whitburn. During session 2025/26 the school roll of 186 is organised over 8 classes in the primary school plus morning, full day and afternoon Early Learning and Childcare sessions.
The school has an excellent relationship with cluster schools, the local community, and the local church. A significant number of our children have barriers to learning and the school works hard to identify and overcome these, priding itself on providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for our children and their families. We believe that children, ‘have to be well, to do well’ and that we can empower them to “be all they can be”.
The Clerical Assistant role will have a clear focus on delivering high quality clerical support to Polkemmet Primary School. The successful candidate will deliver a wide range of clerical responsibilities and will follow West Lothian Council policies and procedures to support the effective day to day running of the school, working closely in partnership with Admin Assistant.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
