Job Advert 36 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, Fixed term until 12 th April 2027.

Armadale PS Nursery Class is situated within Armadale and serves the local area.

The setting consists of am, pm and full day learners aged between three and five.

The nursery provides spacious learning areas including a large outdoor area.

Armadale PS Nursery Class falls under the management of Armadale Primary School, which is situated in the same building.

The setting is open 50 weeks per year and staff work flexibly on a rota across the opening hours.

The successful candidate will work as part of a forward thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and will respond to the individual needs of a child and also be responsible for a range of general duties to support pupil learning and pastoral support, providing high quality, caring interactions and learning and teaching experiences.

They will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the school partnership with parent, pupils, teachers and external agencies.

This position requires registration with the SSSC.

The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.

SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.

If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.

The post-holder should be educated SCQF Level 6 or provide equivalent qualifications and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early year’s educational establishment.

If not already, the post-holder should ensure they achieve SCQF Level 6 within 5 yrs of appointment.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18.

The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3-month period by repayment schedule.

If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
