Legal Services provides comprehensive professional legal and committee services to the council and consists of four teams — Committee Services, Licensing, Litigation, and Property/Planning.
This exciting, fixed term, post is a varied and challenging role, for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, to join a busy professional Service. The post holder, will undertake a range of complex and sensitive areas of work, collaborating closely with the Chief Solicitor and Legal Services Managers.
The post holder will undertake specific projects and tasks to ensure the delivery of performance and modernisation activity, provide professional support by developing and maintaining a knowledge library and resources for the service, support and undertake consultation and research activity, in addition to undertaking specific functions such as freedom of information internal reviews, data analysis and preparation of a range of information, reports and briefings
The post is suitable for and will be of interest to those with a desire to develop their existing project, organizational and communications skills, and undertake new and challenging tasks in a professional service.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent project management skills, experience in undertaking and supporting research, effective workload management and ability to prioritize and work under pressure. They will be able to anticipate and proactively seek opportunities for improvement activity, and have excellent communication and team working skills. In addition, they will demonstrate understanding of the sensitive nature of business undertaken within the service, and awareness of the necessity to exercise discretion and sensitivity in undertaking their role
